This book doesn't know quite where it's readership is. The DHTML advice is skimmed over with no real applicable use. eg; once you have your layers sorted, how the hell do you keep them positioned on different sized screens....this is fundamental to any design and was glaringly absent making the tutorial a complete waste of a morning... Sometimes these people lose touch with what needs to be taught, get back in the loop guys...

The first half of this book was easy to read through and is excellent as a brief tutorial in CSS and DHTML. The only problem I found was a slight difficulty when trying to refer back to previous code examples and finding what I wanted quickly. The second half of the book concentrates on the style and command reference and is well set out. One aspect I did like overall was the concentration on styles/code applicable to both IE and Navigator and their compatibility issues. Nice if you want to design for cross-browser enabled sites.

Not a book for beginners like myself. Does not go into the background and mechanics of CSS. Pages are poorly laid out as you have to flip pages to see code and examples. Could do with a CD of the Code so that you could follow it on your PC.
