When I first read this book I realised that it could be a good substitute of the "Bible" Mas Colell. Well, my impression was true. I agree about the fact that this is a well written book and provides a good basic of Maths to understand everything in it. BE WARY, you must be good in maths to go trough the entire chapters. It is not at an introductory level. I would suggest it to postgraduate students.

This is an excellent book for last year or graduate students. In the first chapters it has a very comprehensive review about set theory and all the mathematical tools you need to understand the rest of the book. The exercises at the end of each chapter are down on the earth, and this is a good thing. I suggets to buy it if you find difficult to understand textbook like Mas Colell et al.

this is a graduate level microeconomics textbook for those who don't need the breadth of coverage offered by Mas-Colell et. al. The chapters on maths are EXCELLENT and the way the authors explain the concepts as well as the exercises have no peer in any math-for-econ textbook i'm aware of. otherwise, the book is as rigorous as any micro text of this level, and the coverage of topics is balanced. the authors' style is relaxed and confident. also, it is the only book with a complete chapter on auction theory. my only complaint is that the answers to the exercises at the end of the book are a) often TOO short b) don't cover all the exercises. one of the best graduate textbooks around.
