5.0 out of 5 stars The best book of the Glory Gardens series so far!, 30 Dec 2001
By A Customer
I had been waiting for a long while for Bob Cattell to release another of the Glory Gardens series, so I was straight down to the bookshop when I heard of this release. It does not disappoint. All the aspects of the old books are in here, from Ohbert's dopiness, to Frankie's comic reactions, and Hooker's sensibilty. The book shows Glory Garden's quest to be the best young cricket team in all of England, and the author makes sure that you can't get away from the book, with his obvious knowledge of cricket, and the humour the book contains. If you buy this book, you will not regret it. Quality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Possibly the best one., 22 Sep 2004

I have read all the Glory Gardens books and I have to say that this is one of the best. It is fun to read and largely it is comedy- I like it as light reading as a break from things that go deep such as Harry Potter and Alex Rider- great books but they dont have a lot of comedy. This book, league of Champions, sees Hooker and co. trying to become the best under 13's cricket team in the country- and it is hilariously funny. I also learned a LOT about Cricket with these books- i largely know now where the fielding posistions are and also exactly what a googly is- it was very educational. The glossary and statistics on the back are really good as well. A great read. Watch out for Frankies Diet and Ohbert's dissapearance. Ohbert.... He's hilarious.
