Product Description

Elmer is not like the rest of the elephants in the jungle, he's a multi-coloured patchwork elephant! In this story, Elmer discovers that his friends laugh at him, not because he's different but because he's the most happy-go-lucky and ever-so-appealing, loveable elephant in the world!

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly amusing with wonderful colourful pictures., 12 April 2002
By A Customer
Elmer by David McKee is an extremely amusing, colourful book with a lovely moral to it. It tells the story of a multi-coloured elephant who, for once in his life, wants to mingle with the rest of his herd and be like all the others. When he does this he finds out what his true purpose is in life and that is to make the other elephants happy. A lovely story to read to a child and enjoyable for adults too.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!, 22 Jan 2005
I work with children under the age of 5 and they all love Elmer. It also gives out a special message that although Elmer is different he is still loved for being himself! Excellent for any child or childcare setting!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for children and grown ups alike!!!, 19 Mar 2001

All the Elmer books are brilliant. This is the first in the series. Elmer is a lovable elephant, who likes to play jokes on the other elephants. Once read you will fall in love with Elmer, and just have to read the other books.
