Product Description
This is the second book in a trilogy that will bridge the events of the hugely popular "Mew Jedi Order" series. Despite being given new worlds to populate, the insectoid Killiks have not found peace. A seemingly unknowable enemy has been attacking the new nests - and the Killicks hold the jedi responsible. Travelling back to the Unknown Regions to unravel the mystery, the Skywalkers and Solos discover an evil far more familiar than they ever expected...and even more terrifying. Why does the dark nest want to kill Mara? Will Jacen's apocalyptic vision trigger another galactic war, or prevent one? And perhaps most ominous of all, what deadly secret are the Killiks hiding? To find out, Luke, Mara, Han and Leia must embark on a perilous journey into the uncharted void between right and wrong. The ferocious Unknown Terrors are only th beginning of the awesome challenges that lie ahead in their quest to fathom the unfathomable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent continuation of the Dark Nest Trilogy , 9 Oct 2005
By Skywalker fan "GMS" (Oxon, United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
Star Wars Dark Nest II: The Unseen Queen is a brilliant entry into the Dark Nest Trilogy, it takes place one year after The Joiner King and shows that while a war between the Killiks and the Chiss was halted it was only a temporary solution. The Killiks have been relocated to the Utegeta Nebula however they are now causing trouble for the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and Luke and Co go back to meet with Raynar Thul to see what is going on. This is the setup of The Unseen Queen and it again has great characterisations by Troy Denning with Luke, Han and Leia all acting spot on perfect.

The Unseen Queen shows that during the one year since The Joiner King Luke Skywalker has been showing the Jedi Order through his example the path back to being less severe and aggressive in the way they tackle situations. However there is a very good subplot that shows that there is still room for a stronger leadership within the Jedi Order, for during the book with Luke being out of contact from the Masters Council the Jedi Order is split on what course they should take with regards to the Killik situation. Leia also is shown progressing with her Jedi studies under the guidance of Jedi Master Saba Sebatyne, with lots of humour and action it's great aspect of the book. These are just two of the plots of the book with many more interesting parts, including a startling revelation for Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker which is obviously a large plot point to be developed in future books.

Troy Denning delivers a very enjoyable middle installment to the Dark Nest Trilogy, full of humour, intrigue, action and setup for the books to follow. I couldn't wait to start reading the third book in the trilogy; The Swarm War.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hapan intrigue, an Ewok smuggler and still loads of bugs, 20 Jul 2008
The Unseen Queen continues the great Dark Nest story with more of what made the first book The Joiner King so good. It is full of difficult moral situations for our heroes as well as the action, adventure and humor that you would expect from a Star Wars novel.

The plot of the book picks up a year after the events of The Joiner King and deals with the crumbling of the shaky truce that was forged by the Jedi Order between the Chiss and the Killiks. The most interesting elements of this book were they depiction of the conflicting objectives of the Galactic Alliance and the Jedi Order that are usually working together against a major threat. Here in a more complicated situation cracks begin to show and illustrates the semi autonomous nature of the Jedi Order. Secondly the developments of Jacen Solos character that continues through the trilogy and beyond.

This is a great book full of interesting concepts for hardcore fans of the Star Wars books as well as the essential space opera elements that make these books so much fun. I particularly liked the continued inclusion of the Sullustan and Ewok smugglers from The Joiner King trilogy and Saba Sebatynes training of Leia Organa Solo as a Jedi. A great read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Buy it, 15 Nov 2005
Despite not being a fan of the NJO series, I do like the Dark Nest Trilogy. The books will keep you interested, right from page 1 and you are wondering what is going to happen right until the end.

I recommend that you buy these three books, they're great.

The only question is, what will happen after the Dark Nest Trilogy?
