Product Description

Product Description
It was dinner time again and Daisy just knew what her mum was going to say, even before she said it. "Eat your peas," said Mum. Daisy looked down at the little green balls that were ganging up on her plate. "I don't like peas." said Daisy. And so the battle of wills begins. What does Mum have to promise to get Daisy to eat her peas? An extra pudding, a chocolate factory or a space rocket with double retro laser blammers? But whatever Mum offers, it doesn't change the fact that Daisy just can't stomach those gross green peas. So Daisy comes up with an idea which will turn the tables and make someone else suffer.

From the Back Cover
Just how much does Mum want Daisy to eat her peas? Well, she'll give Daisy an extra pudding, a baby elephant and even a chocolate factory. Now will Daisy eat her peas? Or will she turn the tables on Mum?

Winner of the Children's Book Award, this best-selling book now comes with a fantastic double-sided frieze and 40 re-usable stickers!

With three different playscenes for children to act out Daisy's adventures, this book is perfect for journeys or simply hours of fun! --This text refers to the Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars A little gem!, 10 Feb 2002
By K. Williams "CrazyKat" (Bristol, UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
What a fantastic little book. Both my daughter and I related to this story as I frequently have been reduced to bribes to get her to eat more than fishfingers and chicken nuggets, and this really struck a chord!

My daughter thinks this is a very funny story, and it has already become a firm favourite. She loves to see the Mum desperately trying to get Daisy to eat those peas. We both laugh at the outrageuos bribes, and she can't wait to get to the page where Mum has her comeuppance! She loves to "read" this book to herself, following the story from the pictures which are fun and easy to follow.

What a gem of a book for children - you''ll love to read it to your child, and it will bring a smile to your face as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amusing and effective¡I, 23 Jan 2004
If you are looking for a book full of witty conversation and exaggerated imagination for your children,"Eat Your Peas"is the best choice.
Basically, situations similar to those in this book can be found in every family, but the author and illustrator make them very appealing. If we follow the story page by page, we can see Daisy's mother getting upset and disconcerted. In order to persuade Daisy to eat her peas, her mother abandons her principles as much as she can. She even offers her a variety of bribes to make her change her mind. Unfortunately, Daisy always refuses to comply. As far as the text is concerned, it is not easy for a little girl to eat something which she really dislikes. I believe that most children if they are bribed, will give up their original ideas and accept the bribe, but Daisy doesn't do that. She has a very strong character and gives a good example for children. In addition to the author's humorous writing, the illustrator's vivid drawings deserve appreciation as well. Without these dazzling and colorful illustrations, this book wouldn't be so impressive.
Therefore, I strongly recommend this book to every young reader. It is worth owning this book to remind one of a pleasant reading experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best read aloud book I've come across..., 9 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This book is excellent to read aloud to a group of children. They really enjoy yelling " I don't like peas!" along with Daisy, and it opens up a great conversation about which vegies they do or don't like; different tastes; and being fussy.
A great book.
