Product Description

Product Description

Benn argues that there has been an unrecognised social revolution centering on experience of motherhood versus society's ideas of women's lives in the 90s. Whilst women are supposed to have it all there is a gap between women's experience of being mothers and societal perceptions of motherhood. Originally published in 1998 by Jonathan Cape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Being a mother in 1999, 23 Jan 1999
By A Customer
Generous, intelligent, thought-provoking, compassionate, well-written. Both mothers and fathers of all ages and backgrounds ought to read this book. All of the UK Cabinet ought to be tied down to their leather seats in Downing Street until they have finished it. As should CEOs and managing directors in companies of all sizes. Way to go, Melissa. Thank you.
