5.0 out of 5 stars An utterly terrific read..., 2 Aug 1999
By A Customer
I've read 'King's Dragon' from cover to cover a couple of times already! But have yet to get my hands on 'Prince of Dogs' or 'Burning Stone' (books are scarce where I am)... This is just a really terrific read... I've never tired of reading it again and again... I really, really love the characters as they are fleshed out wonderfully... the plot is engaging and the background history gives the world a real 3d feel... Recommended to anyone who likes a book with adventure and drama! And anyone who likes fantasy should *definately* give this one a shot!

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved it, 11 May 1999
By A Customer
This book was good from beginning to end. Great plots, great characters, a well crafted world. There is a significant amount of description, but not too much at once and no more than is necessary to let the reader know what is needed about what's going on. Though I had trouble following the myriad and convoluted relationships, there was never any doubt as to who was doing what. I had never heard of Kate Elliot before this and then the design of King's Dragon cover art put me off from the book for a while. But I'm eager to pick up the next book in this series and anything else I can find by the author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A brilliant example of world-building, 14 Jun 1997
By A Customer
Readers of my own work, the Deverry series of fantasies, often ask me what else I'd recommend. I now have something to tell them! KING'S DRAGON is a brilliant piece of world-building and a great beginning to this new series. I found Elliott's "alternate Christianity" fascinating, and I wish the changes that such a religion would have made in our own Europe were real. -- Katharine Kerr

5.0 out of 5 stars WONDERFUL
I liked the book. Laith's character was a little boring in parts but on the whole it was a good book. I await Prince of Dogs axiously and hope that I don't have to much longer.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible...
I have read many books, but nothing has ever been this good! King's Dragon, is fast paced, and the characters are so very real! I highly recommend this book to any fantasy lover!

5.0 out of 5 stars A little slow at the start, but great character interplay!
The start was a little slow. Once into the story I was totally captured to see when the two main characters, Liath and Alain, would cross. Read more
