Product Description

Self & Society

What is evident from this book is how widely Carl Rogers' ideas have spread throughout the humanistic scene - and how valuable they have been.

Counselling

a stimulating, enjoyable book and I recommend it to anyone interested in the person-centred approach.

5.0 out of 5 stars New directions in person centred couselling!!!, 31 Aug 2004

(REAL NAME)
For Rogers th personal was the key to the universal. He was never more pleased than when he helped people to find their own power, potential and Direction. Beyond Carl Rogers is testimony to the originality he continues to inspire. This book is a feast, full of practical and theoretical insights and challenges: the authenticity of he therapist, empathy and micro-process, the relevance of love, the nature of self, creative therapy, expressive methods, focusing, encounter, applications in psychodrama and family therapy, chaos theory, the perils of eclecticism and much more. The above insights are discussed by a group of the most innovative therapists in the tradition of Rogers, written in essays exploring the new directions in psychotherapeutic practive. A must read for anyone studying counselling.
