5.0 out of 5 stars Stolen Innocence - A mother's fight for justice, 27 Oct 2004
By A Customer
It is difficult to read this book without being moved to tears - at the parents' pain; the obduracy of the police who refused to believe in the mother's innocence and the obvious evidence that pointed to it; and, perhaps most importantly, the shortcomings of our adverserial form of justice.

Thank goodness Sally Clark was an educated woman and had friends who were prepared to give freely of their time and considerable effort to help her when she was unable to help herself. But what of other mothers, similarly convicted because "specialists" and "experts" are not questioned or made to support their findings by hard facts?

This is a long book, and full of detail, but it is a gripping read and, thankfully, one with a "happy" ending. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Read and learn, 12 Jun 2004
By A Customer
Every police officer, judge, doctor, lawyer, social worker, government minister and EVERY PARENT should read what this book has to tell.

It reveals the diligence and compassion of people who care about medicine, justice and children; and the callous methods of careerists who serve themselves.

It details the dedication and effort of people who strive for justice and humanity; and the lies and tricks of those who persecute and then protect themselves.

This is a piece of work with many voices to describe the struggles, breakthroughs and emotions of those involved in the fight for justice for Sally and her family. It is detailed and methodical, but not remotely dry. The story has much to teach us all.
