Product Description

Product Description

Raising children is not easy and often feeding one's child can be one of the hardest aspects of parenting; there is now clear evidence stating that what children eat can affect their future physical and intellectual development. The media is full of information on nutrition and diet but knowing what to apply to your own child can be difficult. In the "Child's Book Of Feeding Problems", top maternity nurse, Gina Ford and leading UK nutritionist, Paul Sacher offer practical and down-to-earth advice for parents struggling with the many difficulties of feeding; ranging from the benefits of breast feeding to overcoming snacking and getting your child to eat fruit and vegetables every day. Clearly organised by age group and packed full of case studies and handy hints, this accessible guide is all a parent will need to raise a happy and healthy child.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for a gift, 16 Aug 2004
By Annette (Australia) - See all my reviews
This book is a great buy to give to parents of new babies. Feeding is such an important, yet confusing and worrying part of taking care of one's baby. One receives so much information from family and friends and who better to listen to than the professionals. So for a happy and healthy infant I recommend using this book as a guideline.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another brilliantly informative book from Gina Ford!, 9 Nov 2007
By Mrs. Louisa Swann - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This book will be a permanent source of information right from birth to 6 years and beyond! When you are tired and stressed about what to feed your child (and how much!) this book will provide the answers. It will guide you through quantities and types of food for specific ages, which will help to reduce the worry about how much they are eating. If you are unlucky enough to find yourself with a fussy eater, then there is plenty of good advice. As with other Gina Ford books, the numerous case studies and Q&A's are extremely enlightening and will give you lots of tips (including if things go wrong). I thoroughly recommend it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Useful Basic Information, 9 Nov 2007
By L MCQ (Scotland) - See all my reviews
I found this book really helpful as it explains exactly what nutrients are found in what foods. It also sets out how many portions of each food group is required for your child at each age and even more helpfully gives a good idea of what constitutes a portion.

Quite scientific but explained very well!
