5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, 5 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Starting off when the genetically engineered heroine escaped from her breeding facility, Manticore, this book followed Max's exploits from then up until the start of the series. And believe me it is one amazing ride. Max lives through thrills and sadness, finding new friends and confronting old enemies, this book has captured the feel of the series exactly. A book for the more adult audience, it will not disappoint.
All the characters are written exactly and the new characters fit into the seedy, exciting world of Dark Angel exactly, falling in like pieces of a puzzle. This book gives some amazing background on Max, missed out from the series. Although, after reading this novel, you can view the series in a different light and it simply seems more amazing. With the next book set to come out, 'Skin game', set after the final episode of the series, Collins seems to be giving Dark Angel fans everything they have ever wanted. I only hope 'Skin game' brings the series to a nice conclusion. Anyway, if you buy this book, you will not be disappointed and will be reading it over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dark Angel: Before the Dawn (Dark Angel), 30 Jan 2004
An insight into the young Max and the full story of her background at Manticore, her escape and with Lucy. The book shows Max meeting O.C and Kendra and how they become fast friends. It takes you through Max's story of finding her sibling Seth after travelling to Seattle when she sees some video footage of who she believes is her long lost brother.

The book is amazing, it clears the truth about her childhood and explores Max's inner emotions and thoughts as she battles her way towards an answer...
