"Ageing can be a journey into power instead of a path to degeneration" claims the cover of Age Power. Leslie Kenton is a journalist, writer and filmmaker who believes the processes of ageing can be countered by a strict diet and simple physical regime. To prove her point she delves into the latest scientific research in the area of nutrition. She goes into great detail to explain the power of the Insulin Balance Diet, which promises to help us age not only gracefully, but powerfully.

Age Power is crammed full of interesting facts and figures and it is all presented in a "sound bite" fashion with lots of information blocks, checklists, memorable quotes and case histories. There is a full glossary to explain all the medical and scientific terms as well as an extensive bibliography and index. The problem with this style of presentation is that it is easy to dip into, but not easy to read through. The other problem with this book is length. At 500 pages, it is a bulky tome that requires a fair bit of dedication to wade through. Its worthy message would have packed far more punch if it were boiled down to a more readable size. As it stands we're not sure if it is meant to be an exhaustive investigative study or a book that inspires us to eat well and live longer, then gives us the information and skills to do so. --Dwight Longenecker

Leslie Kenton has blown open the door on the myths and mysteries of aging, health, and well-being. Anyone hungry for the truth about how to turn back the clock, (or how to keep the clock from getting away from you in the first place), would be doing themselves a tremendous service in reading--and applying--the principles in this book. A wealth of information--from optimum eating and nutrition, to cutting-edge technology for self-development--this book is chock full from beginning to end. This book has earned a permanent place in my home. Not on the shelf, but on the kitchen table, where I refer to it daily. Leslie Kenton is easily one of the best authors I know in the realm of health and well-being. And this book tops them all.
