Product Description
Synopsis
Low-tech circuits, or repetitive exercises on specific muscle groups are an increasing popular way of exercising. This guide gives a structured fitness programme, designed to keep exercising time down to a minimum, with hints and tips on diet, and avoiding and coping with sports injury. The book starts with an eight-week beginner course leading to a basic level of fitness which can then be maintained indefinitely using the maintenance and specialization circuits. This section also shows how to concentrate on individual requirements and diversify into games and sports. There are self-assessment tests throughout and the final section gives a four-week course designed to bring you to a peak of physical and mental fitness for a tough challenge based on SBS/SAS selection procedures which very few will find possible.

Later this year I am joining the Royal Marine Commando's, and this book definetly helped me passed the gruelling 3 day fitness tests- The PRMC. This is an excellent book for eveyone, whether you to are joining up, or you just want to improve your general fitness.

4.0 out of 5 stars BUY IT!!!, 22 Jan 2002
By A Customer
This book is BRILLIANT.Better illustrated and laid out than the numerous "Be a Navy Seal" books. Clear, well illustrated and usable. No miracles, no glamourous models no nonsense. Read most of the other books in the fitness type section and they are not as good.
Based around circuit training gives 7 weeks exercises, targets to attain and tips on motovation etc. After the 7 weeks you can proceed to sports specialised circuits.

Only downfall,a silly and impractical timing regieme, exercise for 15 seconds rest for 10. Nearly impossible to do with a stop watch so I made up a tape. Would have scored 5 stars in my opinion otherwise.Buy it

4.0 out of 5 stars well structured introduction to circuits & fitness, 9 April 2001
By A Customer
A Useful guide covering a broad range of topics such as nutrition, planning circuit sessions and a wide range of body circuit exercises however in typical military style its terse with brief descriptions of the exercises although there are a lot of clear photographs. The book concentrates on the "nitty gritty" taking a practical approach and not burdening the reader with unecessary fitness science. Anyone who's getting into fitness and wants to gain some good basic knowledge of training technques would do well the buy this book.
