5.0 out of 5 stars a must for fans of postwar british films, 12 Oct 2000
By A Customer
I browsed through this book at Heathrow and was captured by it, would have taken it there and then but it was too damaged. There are fine shots of the Mills at The White House, Denham village which took me back some three years to the time I visited the house with the former occupant, then one of our VPs. Bob Hopkins' father was an officer in the USAF at Ruislip, and Bob was raised in Denham and sang in the choir at the church adjacent to the house. Lady Mills was absolutely charming, Sir John was out filming. I recall the family photos on the grand piano, an oil of Sir John on the bridge of a navy destroyer, his knighthood framed on the wall...You won't be disappointed - top of the coffee table stack.

This wonderful picture biography was recently published in the United States. If you want to know about the cinema, celebrities and the Mills family the pictures in this book will tell it all. I adore it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic - if you have any interest in cinema/Hollywood buy, 22 Oct 2000
This book is not only full of great 'behind-the scenes' photos of major stars, it is full of terrific anecdotes too.

The only 'negetive' (pun intended) is that once I've picked it up I can't put it down!

This book is an incredible photo-diary as captured by Sir John Mills. Sir John enjoyed being behind the camera as well as being in front of it. Read more
