This book is basically a 400 page code listing. It contains very little actual information. Each of the book's 12 chapters contain from 2-4 pages of information, followed by a long code listing. The sprites for the example programs consist of arrays which are explicitly initialised by the program. You basically end up with a very long listing consisting mostly of integer literals; there are only seven values per line, so each 2688 element array is initialised with about 8 pages of data. Finally, the book only deals with the VGA's 16-color, 640x480 planar graphics mode using Borland's BGI; this video mode is quite outdated by today's standards.
