Product Description

"This book will be of tremendous assistance to women in business as well as being great fun to read." - Nikki Beckett, Chief Executive, NSB Retail Systems Plc. "An essential read for any woman in business." - Joy Kingsley, Managing Partner, Pannone & Partners. "It is an invaluable insight into the lives of women who have succeeded, against many odds, in achieving positions of power. Not only for those who wish to follow in their footsteps but a comfort to those who "made it" to know there are like-minded women out there." - Hilary Meredith, Managing Partner, Donns Solicitors. "Stepping Up" is your practical and comprehensive guide to getting the most out of your career and life. Based on original research material and interviews with women across Europe, it explodes the gender myths that hold women back. It details strategies for overcoming everyday challenges, such as handling the difficult manager, bullying, and conquering stereotyping. High-flying women such as Dianne Thompson of Camelot, the Rt. Hon. Tessa Jowell, Minister for Employment, Welfare to Work and Equal Opportunities, and Nikki Beckett, Business Woman of the Year 2000, pass on advice on career management and how to be successful without sacrificing your personal life. The book is packed full of information on how to develop key skills such as leadership, teambuilding and delegating. 5.0 out of 5 stars A MUST FOR ANY WOMAN WHO NEEDS TO ASPIRE, 1 Mar 2002
By A Customer
This is book obiviously written by a woman who has used this philosophy and methodology to aspire herself.
Easy to read, and straight forward, therefore, this great read applies to all women, from a young woman entering the world of commerce, a mother returning to the workplace, or a senior director within a global corporate.
From a male management perspective this book will give a real insight as to what challenges femails have to face in commerce today.
This book should be in everyones bookcase who is involved in managing people at any level, male or femail.
I look forward to your next book Ms Kazerounian.

5.0 out of 5 stars Informative, easy to read and quite brilliant,, 22 Nov 2001
For the first time an author has approached this topic head on and done it justice. Kazerounian has obviously done her research and made "Stepping Up" informative, but very intersting to read. There are a few surprises for everyone,,,a few astonishing findings. But what makes this book stand out, is that it is not a one sided femenist attack on the establishment. Kazerounian simply lays out the facts, and in a way that both gendres can learn from. In my opinion any male or female at board level should have at least a flick of this book. I am sure that book will be a land-mark for the manner corporates re-adjust their approach on employment of gendres. Astonishing, beautifully written, and very well worth a read...outstanding.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well thought out, remarkable and quite brilliant., 16 Nov 2001
By A Customer
For me this is the first book of its kind. It really gets to grips with a modern day issue that others have dabbed at. For once, an author has had the intelligence to research such a wide and interesting subject and deal with it head on.
This book is not only for women but for both gendres. Men at board level can learn tremendous amounts from the resources that Kazerounian had brought together (which may I add is very reader friendly with all the technical phrases explained.) This is truely a must read.
