Product Description

Product Description
Queuing theory is a highly complex, but essential part of computer communications which deals with the efficient use of networked resources. This text enables the reader to use queuing analysis to solve practical problems without needing sophisticated mathematics. After discussing fundamental issues and characteristics, the book focuses on useful results and formulae, rather than background theory. A library of subroutines for building analysis programs is provided, as is a menu-driven program on the optional diskette.

4.0 out of 5 stars Best book I've read on the practical use of queueing theory, 8 April 1999
By A Customer
For those people not familiar with the topics of probability, Mike Tanner introduces these without complication. He uses everyday examples such as Dice throwing and playing cards to illustrate what can be a complex topic.

The book then moves on to explore the various facets of queueing theory and it's applications from queueing in a bank to call centres.

The book also contains a wealth of information in the form of PASCAL routines, which can be relatively easily converted to VB.
