The first chapter will review Cisco hardware that has come out since the book was first written. The end of the chapter will have subsections on Cisco 700, 800, 1600, 1700, 2600, 3600, 7100, 7200, 7500.
New Sections: 1) VPNs will address VPN implementation, management and security 2) IOS firewall features 3) Cisco security scanning
All configuration examples will be updated to reflect implementation on a 2600 platform with IOS version 11 or 12 as appropriate.

This is one great book that helped me and a colleague configure our Cisco 2500 series routers with only a little bit of experience with routers. I'm also using this book as a study guide to obtain a pass on the new CCNA exam. I'm currently a CNE and working towards my MCSE. I highly recommend this book for its clear explanations of the OSI model, IP Addressing and Routing protocols. It's also a good book to use as a reference.

If you're new to IP routing, or just need to brush up, this is an excellent tool. It's not the only book you'll need, but it's one you shouldn't be without.
