Product Description

A new series that takes Six Sigma to the next level

The Six Sigma Operational Methods Series goes beyond simply explaining Six Sigma basics to interested managers, these are hard-core working tools of statistical methods, quantitative and intense, aimed at mathematically sophisticated Six Sigma practitioners unwilling to settle for anything less than peak performance in manufacturing and services.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not perfect!, 4 Jul 2005
    By A Customer
An easy to read book with lots of examples and case studies. It covers how six sigma is used as a management system and shows how lean and six sigma complement and strengthen each other. The case studies illustrate many points but often brush over the measurement and analysis aspects thus making them less useful. I also felt that claiming it would move you to a higher level was a little exagerated. It is a good book and I am glad I have bought it, but it didn't deliver quite the value I had hoped but perfection is difficult to achieve.

On that point I find it amazing that books about quality always manage to show what poor quality is - there are a number of places where words, and/or sentences are repeated or missing. The biggest error is a complete paragraph being repeated on the same page word for word.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not the best book, but still useful, 11 Oct 2009
By Matts Cotty (Switzerland) - See all my reviews
The Six Sigma Black Belt Handbook is another book designed to support Black Belt practitioners. This book is a little vague in places and repetitive, but saying that is does deliver some application information that I have not seen in other books. As a Black Belt, one the hardest things to convey to six sigma virgins is what six sigma and lean principles mean in a way that they can relate to and understand. This for me is where this book is very useful and if you can use the information in the introduction and the first couple of chapters, your team will understand what six sigma is all about and how it relates to real life.
