1.0 out of 5 stars An outline too far, 27 Nov 2001
By A Customer
Having already enjoyed Schaum/Hubbard's publications on C++ and Java, I began this book with some interest.

However, upon completion, I was left feeling unfulfilled and in need of a hug. Had I been a total beginner and was reliant upon this publication to clarify, I think I would have been baying for the blood of the publisher.

What is the point of producing a slimmed down version of an already outlined publication? Java is a very powerful language and demands a weighty explanation. Indeed, all outline books tread a very fine tightrope when abbreviating details.

In summary, a book filled with 'shopping lists' simply can't be justified.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good revision / no waffle, 8 Oct 2008
Great for quick revision (and for transferring from another language like Delphi because no simplified explanations of OOP etc)

About a dozen typos and a bit repetitive, but that's IT for you :-)
