I bought this because i wanted to understand secure shell. The first 200 pages of the book explain the options of secure shell and how to install it, which isnt really what I was after (I can read the manual pages after all). the section on key management came after the ssh options, when it should have come before to explain those options that were a mystery until you read the later chapters. a classic example of a book written for people who already understand the subject, which wasnt what i was after... As the other reader said, I'm going to have to get the orielly book as well, which is annoying. yet another reason for me to stick to Orielly books...

This should be a great book but its actually very disappointing. There are many typographical errors and many sentences that are unclear or open to misinterpretation. The diagrams are poor and confusing as are the author's explanations. My advice would be to wait for the O'Reilly offering. I found out more in a couple of minutes reading the preview chapters at the O'Reilly site than several hours struggling through this book.
