At university this was held up as one of the best standard texts for understanding heat transfer. In industry this is the textbook used to design heat exchangers and the work copy is well thumbed to the point of falling apart. Many complicated ideas are put across very clearly by the author. At the end of each chapter there are questions to test the students understanding of the work. There are many worked examples of calculations which are well set out, cross referenced and easy to follow.
