Many books on procrastination, though not this one, make the distinction between task-procrastination and trait-procrastination (different folks use different terms, but the distinction is the same). Task-procrastination means procrastinating occasionally in one or two tasks that are unpleasant or difficult. Trait-procrastination, is pervasive, a central part of the way you think, act and are in your life. This book is mostly about task-related procrastination so if you are a trait-procrastinator (which is what we usually mean when we use the word), this book may not be appropriate. Further, this book emphasizes business related issues and examples so if you are, e.g. a blocked writer, it won’t be much help (though the excerpt in ‘read inside’ suggests otherwise).
For these two reasons I believe the title is misleading. It should be called something like “a guide to overcoming productivity stamble-blocks at work”. It is also misleading to call this a 7-step program, as there are no 7 steps and no program, just advice on various issues.

What can I say, as a lifelong procrastinator, I wasn't convinced that reading a book on the subject would help but it did. I've changed lots of things about how I operate and look forward to being more productive in all the years of my life thanks to Lynn Lively.
