This book covers two stroies the first is set in 1814 when Evangeline Munroe inherits a cursed nightshade diamond. she then literally runs into Connoll Addison, Marquis of Rawley, the most sought after bachelor amongst the ton. It is a good story even though miss Munroe is a bit full of herself.
The second story is set in the present. with Samantha Jellicoe and Rick Addison. Samantha is providing security for a museum exhibit. she then discovers the nightshade diamond, with an accompanying note that says the thing is cursed. This story is great it is also the 4th one in the Sam and Rick series. If you haven't read any of them you should. Sam is a cat burglar in the first, but gives it up for Rick, who she tried to rob.

This is the 4th book of the Samantha-Jellicoe-series.
Whereas all the other books of this series are just about Sam and Rick and their struggle to live a normal and legal life, this book is about two love stories bounded by a diamond necklace.

The first few chapters are about the love between some of Ricks ancestors. This story is very heart-warming and you can see that Suzanne Enoch is also a wonderful writer when it comes to historical romances.
Then you switch to the present day and the Rick-Sam-relationship, which gets more and more serious.
The diamond necklace, which is found and seems to be cursed, causes -of course- a lot of trouble and is an action-guarantee.

I have to confess, that I was after the first two books a little bit disappointed about the third. The story began to get really flat and at some pages it was even boring.
But this book is wonderful. Suzanne Enoch had a wonderful idea and I hope that the next books are as good as this one.
