I read this book 2-3 years ago. It pulls no punches in it's depiction of a man (an Israeli commando) putting aside any moral scrupals he may have to protect his family. The plot is tight,the action pacy and realistic and the basic premise of bullies and cowards coming up against a trained killer very satisfying.

I would recommend this book to fans of serious action thrillers.

This is a very good action novel, with great plot and character development, portraying an Israel commando taking on neo-nazis and a former Nazi from the war.

There is some good content around the psychology of fascism, there is a scene during which a group of unthinking nazi terrorists are firebombing an ethnic minority refugee family for the former Nazi officer and he comments that he is happy to see the Jews being attacked, one of his company states that the victims of this firebombing are not Jews, the Nazi officer states that they are, "they all are".

I dont know whether that means that the Nazi's saw Jews everwhere, a sort of paranoia, or that for the Nazis the just used Jew as a label for anyone they wanted to persecute and kill but it is sinister and I think insightful.

There is also some interesting musing by the lead character, a ethnic nationalist of a sort, an Israel zionist who would like to settle the whole of the middle east with ethnic jews, when he begins a romantic involvement with a female arab agent, although this did not development as much as I would have liked it to.

One of Easterman's best, for fans of this I would recommend K Is For Killing by Easterman or The Believer [DVD] [2001]
