4.0 out of 5 stars No collection is complete without it., 8 Jan 2001
By A Customer
The Simpsons on Parade Comic was the first one i bought. I now have five other comics in my collection. Six really if i include the Heebie Jeebie Hullabaloo. On Parade has comics twenty-four to twenty-seven. The first comic didn't really get to me much. It wasn't very exciting and i didn't find it much fun to read. It's about Campaign America coming to Springfield and Lisa is the only one in town with great interest in it. That's if you don't include Smithers. As well as the main comics you also got the little shorts. The first one is great it really puts you back into the excitement of the comic. The next big comic is better than the first one. Marge gets her own show after she complained about chat shows and whilst on TV she used her "magic" stain remover on Mayor Quimby and everyone is impressed by it. Kent Brokman is forced off the air by this so he decides to create a little unpleasentness between Marge and Quimby. Meanwhile he also doesn't want his real name to be revealed.... The next comic short is very good. It's a story featuring two of the towns better known policemen (and one of them ain't Wiggum). The fourth comic is a great one. It's based on the movie Speed. It's about Sideshow Bob. He becomes concerned over the childrens safety on the school buses when he sees that there are no seat belts. He pleads with Skinner to put seatbelts in the buses but is ignored. He has a plan to make the bus more dangerous than it already is, putting a certain little spikey haired boy at danger of death. The last short story is one of Captain McCallister's Tales of the Briney Deep. He is telling Bart the story of how he got his peg leg as a young boy. Guess who the young boy looks like in his story. The last story is a brillient one. My favourite of the whole lot. Homer becomes very close to Lisa as they share the same genius gift. Lisa loves her new father but does she miss her old dumb dad?

4.0 out of 5 stars Four big ones and a few little., 3 Jan 2004
Simpsons on parade comic was the fifth one i got and it totaly outbeat the rest. There are four big stories and a few little ones. My favourite is the one about Mayor Quimby and the magical washing powder! When The parade comes to town Lisa is so exited, but to her disbelief, none of the rest of Springfiels is, i suppose this story was ok. Most of the little comics come after this and then there is the one with the mayor and marge. Marge gets herself on TV because of her washing powder formular and she washes all the stains off a really tough piece of work. News presenter Kent Brockman isnt pleased to be forced off air so he gets his revenge, Marge and guess who are seen kissing. Then guess who goes along with the story. When marge finds out she is devestated, but not so devestated she doesnt have time to get her revenge, live on TV. It is so funny! The one about two policemen, one of them not being springfiels well known guv is the worst, it lets the book down just a tiny bit. On the last story Sideshow Bob desides the children need seat belts, when he is refused he desides to bomb the bus if it goes to fast or to slow and send little Bart Simpson into Space. This is for sure the best book i have read in a long time. On the other hand, the short stories are not so good and in my version the pictures where a tiny bit faded, but apart from that an brilliant buy!
