This book gives a story of one whom overcame panic disorder and tells how you can by using positive thinking. However, the book does not give a good holding for someone to treat themselves with. I need more information or ways on how I can master positive thinking. Therefore, I don't feel this book has any great value for someone who is in desperate need of help to recover from panic disorder.

This is without a doubt the best book written on the anxiety disorders. It is NOT written from a clinical standpoint, with scary and hard-to-understand language. Rather, it comes from the author's personal experiences (not some therapist's theory). The book lets you in on Ms. Bassett's life as a former panic sufferer and takes you on her personal road to recovery (It's possible!!). She offers everything from why people develop anxiety, how to conquer it, and encouragement every step of the way. She also has a wonderful audio program that you can get info on in this book. If you are suffering from anxiety, as I was when I found this book, I encourage you to read it. It's possibly the BEST self-help book on the market today. It truly changed my life.

There are many books out there trying to help anxiety sufferers understand their symptoms and thought processes. This book, by Lucinda Barrett explains, from her personal experiences, what is happening to the sufferer and how to overcome the dread and fear that anxiety envokes.
A wonderfully insightful read, with the personal touch. Being easy to read and full of helpful hints and tips, I would highly recommend this book to fellow sufferers who want to get better and want to start living a fearless 'normal' life. Buy it now!
