5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, heart-rendering tale, 21 April 2008
By A. Bishop "footloose_lou" (Brighton, U.K) - See all my reviews

This review is from: Broken Soup (Paperback)
I bought this book on a bit of a whim because the cover caught my attention, and I'm glad i did. It tells the story of Rowan, and how her family is coping (or not) with the loss of her brother. It shows the strain on relationships, new friendships formed and the hole someone leaves behind.

Jenny Velentine's skill in writing has created an intriguing and compelling novel, which had me laughing and crying all the way through.

4.0 out of 5 stars More please!!, 27 Nov 2008
This review is from: Broken Soup (Paperback)
I liked this book because it wasnt the normal boy-meets-girl type book. Its easy to read and v. memorable. It deals with her useless dad, her caring for her younger sister, her brothers death and her mums depression.
the only problem was i wish there was more at the end or at least a sequel. I wanted to hear more about Harper :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great!, 9 Feb 2009
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Broken Soup (Paperback)
This was a brilliant book and i enjoyed it brilliantly i would reccomend it for anyone between the ages of 12 to about 16.
I was deeply interested by this book and it was as if i couldn't get enough..
It makes young girls understand what happens at home with some unfortunates. I opened my eyes to difficulties at home with some people.
The most disappointing thing was it ending. :)

xx
