5.0 out of 5 stars Great and easy to read account of her experience, 11 May 1999
By A Customer
I thought this was a great and easy to read book. I am a catholic but have family in the orthodox church and have always been interested in becoming orthodox. I am now wanting to convert into the orthodox church. This book has given me great insight into the religion. The book is easy to read and humorous. I found myself not being able to put the book down. I really recomend this book for anyone who is looking for a more traditional and fulfilling form of christianity

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful look at a year through the Orthodox faith, 22 Feb 1999
By A Customer
As a former evangelical protestant now preparing for chrismation within the Church of the East I very much enjoyed Frederica Mathewes-Greens account of a year within their mission church. It helped to focus me on the timeless practices of the church.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful. True to life., 24 April 1999
By A Customer
A "virtual reality" read of a "year in the life" of an Orthodox Christian.

Federica has been my friend through Holy Week. Myself being a mother of three and Orthodox. I live overseas and do not speak the language of my host country. I yearned for my Orthodox community to share my up and downs and many joys of the faith. She's summorized it all and made me smile.

Thank you Federica! Hope to meet you some day.
