I agree that the characters probably don't behave exactly like what was expected in the day, but that would also make rather boring books (P&P excluded). I devour Eloisa James' books! They are all really wonderfully written and this series carries my favourite characters through the four books.
I can highly recommend any of Eloisa James' books.

This was the first book I had read by this author. Not sure if it will be my last! I have read many historical novels and this one did not seem to "sit right". I am aware annulments and divorce were probably available in this era but I am sure not to the extent they were bandied about in this book. This author's take on propriety within the Ton was certainly different from most other authors writing of this era. Nevertheless, I completed the book out of curosity!

great story about 2 people who were married when they were very young. after 12 years they end up trying to annul their marriage but fate has other plans for them. also gina's friends are hilarious as they have all abandoned their husbands but some have decided they want things to change. hilarious read.
