5.0 out of 5 stars Very readable, interesting characters, 17 Feb 2005

This is the first in the trilogy The Windrose Chronicles. The story mixes high tech in this world with magic in a parallel world, surprisingly effectively, and the characters are well drawn and interesting.
This book does stand alone, but the story continues in The Silicon Mage and I would recommend reading both. The Dog Wizard is a sequel involving the same characters, but you don't need to read the third book to feel that the story has concluded satisfactorily.
