4.0 out of 5 stars Another great biography, 20 May 2004
By R. P. Sedgwick "Grim Rob" (UK) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Bunny was the third biography of a twentieth century self-made multi-millionaire that I have read (the others being on the subject of Jean Paul Getty and L. Ron Hubbard), and all of them were excellent. All three men came over as remarkably similar (insecure, eccentric, enormous risk takers, unable to have lasting relationships), although they made their names in completely different areas.

The story of the founder of Playboy's magazine's extraordinary lifestyle is brought to life in this book, as is as the decadent business empire built up around the magazine, which by the end of the work was starting to collapse.

If the grass sometimes appears to be greener on the other size, one thing Getty's books do reveal is that having lots of money does not necessarily mean living a happy and contented life.
