3.0 out of 5 stars Do not end your reading of this subject here!, 24 Jan 2001
By A Customer
If you have never read anything about Hypnosis before this would be a good book for you to start with. It gives a basic overview of the art of Hypnosis in a very light-hearted manner. It would not be a book that you would go back to again for referencing.

If you are planning to go to a Hypnotherapist, but would like to know more about the subject first, then this book is for you.

If this would be your first Hypnosis book, but you are planning to study many many more, then this would be a good starting block.

If you are wanting hypnosis for a specific purpose, then go straight to a book on that purpose.

If you already know about Hypnosis, then this book would be interesting, but would probably not benefit you in any other way.

I believe that learning self-hypnosis will change your life in a phenominal way for the better. A life enriching experience would be to take a Hypnotherapy course in your area. Everybody can naturally do self-hypnosis, you just have to learn how to tap this powerful tool, and when you do it will open up so many doors.

4.0 out of 5 stars Light hearted and informative, 13 Mar 2001
By A Customer
It's a relief to read a book which doesn't take itself TOO seriously and which informs at the same time. I agree with a previous review which pointed out the rather self-congratulatory tone of the text; don't these therapists ever have ANY failures?!! Nevertheless, for a general intro to this field, a good choice

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent for beginners, 30 April 2000
By A Customer
I am a mental health practitioner and have found that this book conveys much information of value to lay readers. The content is valid and based on science. It is NOT a technical volume, so nit-pickers may be put off by the style in which is is written. But for the person wishing information, this book is a good start.
