This book taught me all the basics of Judaism, and more. Presented in a very clear and easy to read fashion, this book teaches about a complex religion in a very down to earth way. Whatever your reasons for learning about this fascinating religion, this is definately the way to go about it. Certainly don't let the fact that it is written by a rabbi hold you back either as he says, "...the key to this book is that it is user friendly. (Report this)   5 of 15 people found the following review helpful: Great book, but did little to help me understand........, 30 Jul 2004 By  "rakey_" - See all my reviews Well I brought this book so I could try and understand my Girlfriends religion, as I knew how important it was to her and I felt the only way I could understand and respect this was to learn about it. The fact that I brought the book went down a treat, I read and found it all very interesting, that was until a few weeks later she ended it and said the answers were in the Book. So bit of a waste of time and money for me, I still don't understand the Jewish religion and how anyone that isn't Jewish just isn't good enough to go out with a Jew. Perhaps Idiot Guide could write a book explaining the workings of the female mind, I am sure even if it was the biggest book in their collection it would be a Number 1 seller for years!!  Comment | Permalink | Was this review helpful to you?
