Product Description

Amazon.co.uk Review

A delightfully illustrated new version of the original Paddington Bear story to celebrate its fortieth birthday. Forty years ago, a small bear from darkest Peru set out on an adventure. Carrying a battered suitcase containing several jars of marmalade and wearing a label round his neck that read "Please look after this bear", he stowed away on a ship bound for England. When he arrived at Paddington Station, the little bear was discovered by Mr and Mrs Brown who immediately christened him Paddington after the station and took him home with them. And there he has lived ever since. Paddington Bear continues to charm readers worldwide with his earnest good intentions and humorous misadventures. --Philippa Reece --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars A delightful tale well told...., 14 Aug 2001
This review is from: Paddington Bear (Paperback)
Paddington of course, is the cutest bear around! The story of how the Brown's found him in the station is simply delightful. It is a clearly written, beautifully illustrated book for the entire family and who could resist the little tag around his neck that says "Please look after this bear. Thank you." Our two year old loves this tale and so do we.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book, but the title's wrong..., 20 Oct 2009
By Lanzecki (Somerset, England) - See all my reviews
This is of course a classic showing off English children's literature at its best. Paddington is as lovable as Pooh, but in a completely different way. The only critism I can make is that my copy (Puffin, 3/6, 1967) is clearly entitled 'A Bear Called Paddington'. Perhaps Puffin took a liberty with the title, but it doesn't seem like Kaye Webb somehow...
