Product Description

A classic Jean Ure story for girls AND boys, about a boy who's driving girls wild! Dorian Jones is an 11-year-old boy who is having 'terrible trouble with girls'. They just won't leave him alone. Girls at school and his annoying younger sisters' friends have massive crushes on him, but Dory's passion is for dinosaurs and he is happiest excavating his back garden. His best friend at school is Aaron and his best friend out of school is a girl called the Herb. How will Dory stop girls throwing themselves at him? Why is Aaron holding hands with Sophy Timms? And why is the Herb acting so strange around Dory all of a sudden!

5.0 out of 5 stars Dorian's Discovery!, 2 Jul 2007
By Bookmark (Bedford) - See all my reviews
Dorian is far more interested in dinosaurs and archaeological digging than girls. But, he soon discovers that girls are interested in him.

His friends Aaron and 'Herb' help him with his excavation project whilst his sister 'Microdot' annoys him with a series of psychological tests designed to try his patience.

As even his best friend Aaron deserts him for other interests, he begins to wonder if he alone suffers irritation and inconvenience from his growing band of female admirers.

But his journey of excavation eventually reveals a quite unexpected discovery.

A nicely observed story told by Jean Ure with both humour and credibility.

4.0 out of 5 stars Hunky Dory Review 2007, 26 Dec 2007
Hunky Dory is about a boy named Dorian who is more interested in dinasaurs and stuff than GIRLS. Girls always fall for him! He has a lil sis named 'Microdot' who bugs him with experiments and things, and then one day this freaky girl named Amy Wilkerson comes to sqaush herself comfortably over Dory and Dory wants to know why Amy is so weird and why she won't sit next to her best friend...
