5.0 out of 5 stars An invaluable book to begin your new lifestyle change!, 22 Feb 2000
By A Customer
Because this book starts with a good overview of the many low-carb books currently on the market, I think this should have been the first book I bought when I started my low-carb "diet". It's clearly written and answers many questions that invariably come up when you begin low-carbing. The recipes are simple, yet delicious; and obviously developed by someone who loves food and understands the protein/carb relationship fist-hand. A terrific starting point!

5.0 out of 5 stars A Low Carbohydrate Diet Saver!, 14 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I have been an Atkins dieter for over two years and have always been frustrated over the lack of resources available for low carbohydrate dieters. Ms. McCullough has taken the boredom and limited variety out of low-carb cooking and made it exciting and great tasting. Her book is just as much a guidebook as it is a cookbook. You will feel as though she is a personal tutor in the study of low-carb cooking. The recipes are fabulous. The cheesecake recipe is delicious and successfully fooled my high-carb eating family. Her recipes are masterful. She has brought a much needed fresh approach to low carb dieting!

5.0 out of 5 stars The "Joy of Cooking" for low carb dieters, 2 Jul 1999
By A Customer
I love this cookbook! Most of the recipes are easy to prepare and truly delicious. In addition, Ms. McCullough offers a great deal of helpful information to assist readers with making the change to the low carb dieting. Even experienced cooks will benefit from her helpful suggestions with regard to stocking the pantry, low carb cooking techniques, menu suggestions, and sources for purchasing hard-to-find, low carb staples. Thanks to this book, I have finally learned to make the perfect omelette which my choosey husband rated a perfect 10.

The recipes themselves are consistently good. Ms. McCullough, through her extensive knowledge of food and cooking, has even managed to dig up some old favorite recipes that had all but been forgotten in our collective zeal for low fat eating. Thanks to Ms. McCullough, we can once again enjoy these old favorites along with her numerous other creative and delicious recipes. I hope to see a sequel to this book. In the meantime, I will continue to use this one for happily cooking and eating.
