5.0 out of 5 stars Calling all film buffs, 7 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This book entirely rejects Emma Thompson's recent remarks that there is no such thing as a British Film Industry and with good reason. You might find some of the selections controversial but it's packed with anecdotes, photos and extra detail that I'd never come across before - it also looks great! To be highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really Good, 14 Feb 2002
By A Customer
Settled down to a read of this and yeah, it's really good. There's a mine of information about the twelve films that hasn't been heard before and it's incredibly readable- seems like the pair of them are committed fans who know their stuff. Particularly like the chapters on Blow-Up and Get Carter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Good, 20 Nov 2001
By A Customer
A very interesting read this. The first thing you notice is the cover, it really stands out and in my humble opinion, is one of the best looking books around. That said, the book goes into great detail on twelve British movies that deserve to be called "cult" in anyone's books. I found the chapters on If..., Quadrophenia and Get Carter to be particularly revealing. I like the fact that these guys have been to the locations, and appear to be fans themselves; that's the real test. Some of the material they've dug up is astounding and is presented in a manner that we all can identify with. None of your high-brow pondering here. A good honest read that the masses will enjoy. Buy it- you won't be disappointed.

Jeff. Chelmsford
