Product Description

The "Total Revision" series has been updated to reflect the changes to the GCSE exams in June 2003. The redesign incorporates features that should help students to revise effectively. Each title provides: content coverage for the GCSE specifications; short 20-minute revision sessions; "check yourself" questions to test understanding; "A* extra" information boxes for highlighting likely exam questions; and an exam practice chapter with guidance on exam technique.

From the Inside Flap

Total Revision is the most thorough and flexible approach to revision and test preparation. This book has been designed to make revision as active and effective as possible. It contains everything you need to achieve a really high level. Revision Sessions break down content into more manageable chunks. Check Yourself Questions test your understanding every step of the way. A* star extra boxes provide the information you need to gain the very top grades. Question Spotter boxes list the most likely exam questions for each topic. Exam practice section shows where marks are gained and lost. Be the best or simply pass the test.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not just a revision book!, 26 Jun 2003
By A Customer
"Total Revision - GCSE Modern World History " is not just a great revision book and a help whilst you do your GCSE course, it is a great book for someone who simply wants to know more about modern world history - like me! However it is a great book for GCSE; it has maps and is very pictorial, but does not miss out on all the facts. It also has good material on how to answer the questions set in a GCSE paper. Overall, this is a sublime GCSE revision companion AND an exquisite non-fiction modern world history informer. A must-buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars The clearest, most helpful revision guide I've seen!, 4 April 1999
By A Customer
Before I got this book, my notes made no sense and my understanding of Modern World History was limited to a handful of notes on everything one would never be asked about the Treaty of Versailles. After a few hours with this book, I was able to confidently say that I was well on the way to an A* grade.

Unlike other guides, not only does it contain questions and answers, but also all of the required cousr material to be learnt, broken down into convenient sections to be revised in an hour or less. For every section there are questions, answers and tutorials and every chapter includes (a) real GCSE question(s).

All in all, an excellent purchase to ensure that one achieves the best possible grade.

I used this book to pass my GCSE history. It was by far the best book for it and I didn't need to use any other books for revision
