5.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant! Just brilliant!, 2 Feb 2002
By A Customer
This book was definitely worth the wait -although not as "gripping" as a few of the previous ones, it really took off on its own with respect to Darren finding his way amongst the vampires and reconciling his beliefs with those of the vampires. A comfortable and familiar read - can't wait for the next book, Darren Shan! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Most amazing books ever --- Darren Shan!!!, 21 April 2003
I've read all nine books of the Saga of Darren Shan published so far, and I must say that the whole set of Darren Shan is simply---amazing.(Except maybe the fourth book, it is a bit boring, but it is a turning point of the events happened later, so it is also a must-read.)
I bought the 9 books one afternoon because my friend keeping urging me to read the books, and remarked that Darren Shan is BETTER than J.K. Rowling. After I've read all 9 books, I think it is very much TRUE.(If you don't believe, read it yourself!)
The books are so addictive that i can't stop reading even when eating meals and i sleep at 2a.m. every night in order to finish the books.
In the books, you will find that Darren Shan, the main character in the books, has brain, strength and luck of vampire with him. He admire the loyalty of vampires, and he tried hard to do so. He is a hero to all vampires. I admire his character and always trying to copy the ways he did when facing dificulties and challenges.

You will learnt a lot from reading this set of books --- The Saga of Darren Shan. Therefore, I encourage all readers who like adventures and horror stories to read them, for your own sake.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, 6 July 2002
By Psyco404 (London,England) - See all my reviews
I have read book 1 - 7 i am badly looking forward to number 8 because every book is writen cleverly with a twist revealing secrets linking each book with new characters and old explaining about the past of some characters and confusing until the end It's hard to explain it all but i would recomend this book to anyone at all it is a good read and leaves you blood thirsty, wanting to read the next one the characters are so realistic darren shan seems capable of anything he just goes and sits down and it seem like he writes the first thing that comes into his head I wouuld love to meet him hope this is helpful from me
