5.0 out of 5 stars A great beginners introduction, 27 April 2001
By A Customer
This book is a great introduction to Tai Chi, giving a good grounding (:-) on the background, history, styles and practises of tai chi. Paul obviously writes from the viewpoint of his own background in Old Yang style Taiji, but most of the material is applicable no matter which style you're looking at.

This book has a very 'soft' feel to it, with plenty of colour and clear sensible advice, and so would be a great introduction for someone who thinks they might be interested, but doesn't want a weighty tome full of posture photos or reams of Taoist mutterings of the sages.

In short, highly recommended.

1.0 out of 5 stars Facile, 17 Jun 2005
By Madge (Chelmsford) - See all my reviews
The author stares a lot and thinks that this is good tai chi. He should try relaxing a bit. His book lacks the grace of a true master.

1.0 out of 5 stars What a dissapointment, 8 Mar 2000

This review is from: Tai Chi (Paperback)
If you like photography this book offers beautiful pictures but not a lot more. The descriptions and explantions are no more than can be read in hundreds of other run of the mill books on Tai chi.I for one was expecting a lot more from an expert in the field

If you were to look at this book from a Chinese point of view, it may well seem to be extremely offensive.
