About the Author
Barry Davies served with the SAS for 18 years and was awarded the BEM for his part in ending a terrorist hijack of a German airliner in Mogadishu in the mid 1970s. SInce leaving the regiment, he has become a professional writer, with much of his literary output based on his military experiences.

If you enjoy hill walking, climbing, adventuring, or a really good read about the great outdoors, then this is the book for you. It is useful, pratical, and written by someone with much experience in the matter. One warning however, if you own or have read Colins Gem Hillwalkers survival guide don't buy the book as the contents are very similar in many places. otherwise a must have for every backpack.
