Product Description

Product Description

All alone, with only his electric guitar and his overactive ego for company, Eddie Virago, proud owner of the last mohican haircut in Dublin, leaves his home town to find fame in the wild world of the London rock scene. A bewildering array of acid-house ravers, saloon-bar revolutionaries, music biz wideboys and media primadonnas all seem oh-so-anxious to help Eddie on his way... --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book is an excellent slice of 90's culture., 8 Oct 1999
Having read both 'the salesman' and 'desperados' I picked up this book to read whilst on holiday. I expected maybe to read a bit of it, maybe even half. I ended up finishing it in 2 days!

The story is brilliant, sad, funny, moving and a whole lot of other emotions rolled up into a ball. Eddie Virago is an idiot, and thoroughly dislikable and yet you just cant help reading on. Compelling stuff. Joseph O'Connor is probably my fave writer ever, and I'd recomend any of his books, but especially this one.

My only complaint is that it was too short!! It wound the story up very quickly at the end. This however is my opinion and certainly doesn't deminish the greatness of this book ;)
