5.0 out of 5 stars Superb Books, 13 Jan 2001
By A Customer
This series of books is one of my favourite finds recently. Salvator has used his previous AD&D experience to weave a wonderful story of Good and Evil, with Luthian as the reincarnated hero of old; The Crimson Shadow.

To add a humorous side to the story, Salvatore creats a character Oliver DeBurrows, a match to Tasslehoff Burrfoot of the Dragonlance Chronicles.

Over all an excellent starter to a brilliant series.

5.0 out of 5 stars An epic tale of hope and despair, 5 Jun 1999
By A Customer
After the death of friend and arena fighter Garth Rogar, young Luthien Bedwyr is set on a near impossible quest to free eriador. Stunningly described characters including Brind Amour the wizard (a famous NHL hockey player) and the esteemed oliver deburrows accompany Luthien as he discovers his fate. Armed with the a magical folding bow and the magical crimson cape Luthien tries to free Montfort, Caer Mcdonald Along with Sojourn, this is Salvatore's Greatest work yet.

2.0 out of 5 stars Oliver is a brilliant characterisation, 23 May 1999
By A Customer
The main character fails but Oliver, the halfling character, is brilliant. It appears the fully fleshed Oliver was dropped into a lame story written around him. However, R.A. Salvatore remains by favourite author by combining spell casting & artifacts into all his books.
