Product Description

Synopsis
Fynn found Anna wandering the streets of East London in the 1930s and, being unable to discover where she lived, took her home to live with his mother. Fynn would spend his evenings talking and playing with Anna; they chatted about life and Anna would tell him about her conversations with "Mister God", to whom she poured out all her thoughts and troubles. Anna's innocent view of the world made Fynn reassess his ideas and feelings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heart warming, 12 Sep 2001
I've never read a book that has been so heart warming, so thought provoking and provides such a simplistic and innocent view of life and love. I've also never read a book that has reduced me to tears.

The true story is fantastic and I defy you to read this and not be uplifted by Anna's persona. We're all nothing but dots at the end of the day (you'll have to read the book). I loved her impish nature and her questioning of when the River Thames becomes known as the River Thames. I don't know the answer to this question but I know the answer isn't 3.

If I achieved half the happiness in my life, as Anna did I'd be very pleased.

I don't believe in God but I do believe in love, which is all this book is about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delightful little book., 4 Jan 2003
By A Customer
This is a delightful book about an inquisitive little girl who saw a lot of things in a very different way than most of us are taught to see. It doesn't matter one bit if you agree with any of Anna's unusual points of view, it's just so refreshingly interesting. (Although you often end up thinking "Humm, I've never thought of it that way, but she does have a point!")

The author says he was lucky to have met Anna. I think she was lucky to have found him. He recognised something rare and beautiful in Anna, and had the intelligence to allow it to develop and grow.

This is classed as a spiritual book - which it no doubt is - but it is absolutely not a "preachy" book. Suitable for thinkers of all ages, children and adult alike.

5.0 out of 5 stars Astounding, 12 Nov 2001
By A Customer
For the last ten years of my life, I have never read a book which inspired me as much as much of the work by Richard Bach. That was until this book was leant to me. Simply beautiful, I laughed & cried, smiled & felt like I knew Anna. What a wonderful child. Theology meets maths in someways, & seeing the beauty of creation reflected in itself. I simply love this book. If ever I get stuck on a desert island I think I'd have trouble with ten records to choose, but the book would be easy, this one.
