This translation of the bible has been published for 25 years now. The fact that it is still in print in several editions, despite the emergence of other modern translations, is a testimony in itself to its popularity. It is particularly suitable for those of us with a childlike nature and those where English is their second language. Those who claim to be more "advanced in the faith" may wish to poke fun at it but the Bible will always speak to the hearts of God's people.

The Bible is quite simply the best book ever written. This is because God wrote it. He's perfect. Ergo, book is good. Read it. I did, and I've never been the same since. In this edition I particularly enjoy the pictures, which break down the sometimes hard going text. I like pictures. Pictures make me smile, as does God.

Jesus by numbers. I feel this version of the Good Book lacks the gritty realism of the King James version. If the authors had tried the "Good News Koran" they would have been stoned to death years ago.
