Product Description

Synopsis

This text is part of a series that aims to involve students actively in their study of the subject and encourage them to consider each topic in its wider social context. Practical assignments are provided through questions, essays and ideas for course work and students' own research. This volume covers all the areas stipulated by the AEB's Culture and Identity topic on paper 1 of the A Level examination. It also covers the issues addressed by the Interboard syllabus options: mass media and popular culture and community and nation.

4.0 out of 5 stars social science students must buy this book, 2 Jan 2003
By A Customer
Investigating culture and Identity by Paul Taylor, is a must for anyone studying social science. Although it deals with the difficult theories the book guides you gently through Marxism, postmodernism and functionalism and a lot more besides. The book is broken up in to chapters that tends to reflect the essay titles within a social science degree(especially if you are mastering in sociology)I could not cope with my assignments without this book, thank you Paul Taylor.
