Synopsis
This exciting new series of enjoyable and entertaining stories is ideal for Guided and Independent reading. Using a tightly controlled vocabulary, the stories include the NLS high frequency words for Reception and Y1 as well as other easily decodable words. Set 2 is available in three packs: 2a, b and c. Set 2a features six stories with initial consonant clusters and common end clusters, as well as words ending in -ck, -ff, -ll, -ss and -ng. Each page has 1-2 lines of text. Set 2b includes six stories which feature the vowel phonemes: ee; ai /ay; ie/ie; oa/ow; and oo, with a final book with ee/ea/ai/ay/oa. The stories also introduce -ed and -ing endings and have 2-3 lines of text on each page. Set 2c includes six stories which feature the vowel phonemes: ea/ee; a-e/ai/ay; igh/y /i-e; o-e/oa/ow; u-e/ue/ew/oo; with a final book featuring Magic e: a-e/e-e/i-e/o-e/u-e. The stories also include -ed and -ing endings and have 3-4 lines of text on each page. All the books feature Letterland characters and use natural language and strong picture cues to help children practise and reinforce their word level skills.
