5.0 out of 5 stars Do you know, I think they might, 18 Oct 2001
By A Customer
If this were an album it would be called 'Anthems'. This is comfort poetry. The contents page lists poems by type of crisis. Is it a case of 'Bad hair day', 'First Date', 'First Wrinkle' or even 'Rock Bottom'? There are poems to make you laugh out loud, poems to put your crisis into context, and above all poems to show you that you are not the first person to feel this way. The ubiquitous and wonderful Wendy Cope appears, alongside older voices and a few surprising new ones. But as advice goes, you probably can't beat Mandy Coe's poem 'Go to Bed With a Cheese and Pickle Sandwich' which I have always found to be very sound advice. It begins 'Go to bed with a cheese and pickle sandwich - it is life enhancing'. So is this book.

(REAL NAME)
What more could you ask, A selection of poems - both familiar and unfamiliar - on a wide range of topics from bad hair days to instant moral fibre via divorce, moving house and birthday blues. My personal favourite is Glynn Maxwell - Deep Sorriness Atonement song which will save me having to ever work out how to say sorry again. there are serious poems here aswell on serious topics so it makes a well balanced kit to help with just about anything!
